Geography
Where everything sits, and what climate that produces.
Cross is an oblong pear, 2,500 km from north to south. Three strokes organise everything: a spine of mountains running north to south, with the seven Seals cut into it; the Sea of the Choir, cutting east to west; and the line of the Limbus Mundi, in the far east, which is not geology — it is where the Archangels’ wave stopped, in 1786.
The mountain is not scenery: it is the prison. That is why the borders of this world are geological, and why mining is an act of war.
