1. Where it sits
40° to 44° N, a volcanic peninsula in the far south, pointing at the southern strait. Some 600 km north to south, and narrow. The Sea of the Choir washes its western shore, the poisoned Tenebrum Sea its eastern one.
The two facts of position that decide everything. First, it is the lowest latitude on the continent: two hundred and fifty growing days a year, twice Königsmark's. Second, the Volkar stands on Seal III, and the most fertile soil in Cross is the soil at its foot.
