Mar Tenebrum — 1871 to 1881 — Era of Empire

"We burned their sea and then we stood on the beach for eleven years."

Historical context

1871. The continent is living its high noon, and the high noon is called the Era of Empire.

Twelve years before, at Cherniwicz, the Clerical Order proved the war could be won: the first fully industrial army in the history of Cross broke a siege in four days and pushed the line two hundred kilometres east. They were the only two hundred kilometres the world ever gained in the whole of the canon, and in 1871 nobody knows that, because they still look like the first of many.
