Historical context
On 17 March 1852, in a city of eighty-one thousand inhabitants of whom sixty-three thousand worked for the forge, the morning shifts did not come in.
Forty days later the Fifth Battery was burning, half the forges of Ferrumkar were lost, and the Choir Iron output of the continent of Cross was going to take nine years to return to the level of 1851.
Between the one thing and the other, the Clerical Order had to decide, in nine days, what to say.
