Male average 172 cm — the tallest on the continent. Junkers at 178, peasants at 169.
Three centuries of protein: cattle, reindeer, salmon, butter, and the sea all year. The north is poor in almost everything except what builds bone, and it shows.
Military selection accumulates. Three hundred years of a royal army that recruits the largest first, marries them better and buries them later — because heavy cavalry survives where infantry does not. The junker layer is a lineage of deliberate selection, and the nine-centimetre difference from the peasant is the only inequality the north itself considers deserved.
